I remember when life used to be so simple. We appreciated smaller things. The everyday so called ordinary things that now go zippo! That means unnoticed. We had more time to say thank you graciously to our waiter. More time to notice what the weather was doing. More time to experience our own thoughts and how we felt about them.
Happier people appreciate smaller things more often. They SEE more to appreciate. They SEE because they consciously focus on what is good about the situation or person. They instruct there brain to focus on the good. Simple.
Imagine life is a tennis racquet. Strange I know but go with me for a bit. You have to hit the ball in what is called the sweet spot, the middle of the racquet, to get it to go over the net. Life is like this. You have to hit the sweet spot to FEEL more satisfaction, meaning and fulfillment.
I think life’s sweet spot is experienced from appreciating the big and the small. The stranger and the dear friend. The gesture and the favour. The benefits and the value. Appreciating more is a direct path to increasing your happiness.
